Kevin's musings

Didn’t post much last week (as you can see). It was a pretty busy at work, but otherwise typical week.
Wed night role playing game (with everyone attending for the first time in a while!), thursday night BLUG meeting with jeremy presenting on ruby on rails, friday night out at the walnut for dinner and barleywine.

Today I picked up a new foster greyhound, Abel. Will post pictures later today hopefully. He’s a sweet older hound.

Well, I managed to get a number of things done around the house today… very productive:

• Cleaned out and moved 2 bookshelves from my bedroom. I threw out an entire shelf of floppy discs I had saved over the years.
• Cleaned out and dusted the two large cases of dvd’s and vhs tapes downstairs.
• Cleaned and dusted all the stuff on the mantle place
• I foolishly didn’t buy my laptop with bluetooth in it, so I finally picked up a bluetooth/modem card for it and installed it this weekend. Very nice to use the bluetooth headset and not have to plug in a USB dongle
• Put all my cd’s (long since ripped) into the guest room closet. Lots of space in there.
• Cleaned, put out all the trash, etc

Since I have been dealing with my Fathers estate it’s made me realize how easy it is for junk to pile up. Best toss it out before it gets too bad.

Since today was the first saturday of the month, the dogs and I wandered off to petsmart for meeting and greeting.

It was a nice time as usual. We did pretty well on donations and talked to a lot of people. There were at several people who seemed very interested in adopting a greyhound, so we will see if that amounts to anything. Hard to tell how serious people are in the long term.

Forgot to post about new years. I made up some home made egg nog and went down south to a party thrown by S, one of the lovely wenches from the faire. It was a nice time. Good conversation, good movies in the background, good nog. Managed to sober up and make it home around 3am or so and was fine when I went to bed, but then I woke up in the night and was quite sick. Spent sunday laying around in a stupor and drinking a lot of water. Monday was nice as it was a holiday (I forgot about that!) so I could do more relaxing. Went up to boulder and loaded up on some barleywine from the walnut brewery. Its yummy this year. After that I saw King Kong. It was enjoyable, nothing too outstanding, but fun entertainment to while away the evening with.

Later today it looks like I will be getting a new foster greyhound (haven’t had one in about 6 months due to travel and such). He sounds like an easy guy, we will see.
