Looks like tomorrow afternoon I will be heading down and getting some training (!) and pick up the new travel trailer.
Should be pretty fun. I am looking forward to having it. I cleaned out the side yard at the house this afternoon and got it ready to push in there if I need to.
Also tomorrow evening I am heading down to take Nash to a puppy play session. Theres another slightly younger pup owned by some friends of mine, and it will be amusing to get them together to play. I predict they will have a wonderfull time and perhaps wear both of them out.
trailer of doom
ok. I decided to just go for it with the t160 I saw saturday.
The dealer guy has been pretty nice about answering emails.
He also has been good so far this morning about sending me forms and stuff they need.
I think it will work out nicely. I got a pretty good deal money wise on it.
Not sure yet when I will go pick it up. They are going to move it over to their service place and fix the small issues I saw and also install for me a wheel on the tounge jack (allowing me to push it around when it’s unhiched, which should make it easier to park). They say the PDI (pre delivery inspection)
takes around 2 hours (they make sure everything works and go over how to use everything on it with you).
weekend update
Nice lazy weekend here.
I did go out saturday and look at travel trailers. The place I went was a distributer of the shadow cruisers that I have been looking at on-line.
Man were they packed with people. All their customer parking was taken up and I had to park next door. Since all the salescritters were helping people,
I got a chance to look at the units I was interested in with no pressure. I really liked the shadow cruiser 160 they had there on the lot.
It’s a 2006 model, so they are trying to sell it (it was a “managers special, with no haggle low price” ![]()
It had the “mocha” interor, which wasn’t too bad all things considered. There was some minor trim dammage around the bathroom door and some
small amount of surface rust on the front, but other than that it was looking good.
I emailed them some questions yesterday and their sales person got back to me this morning.
Now I just need to decide if I really want to blow that kind of money on a trailer… It will be very handy for halloween in New Mexico, Hunting in New Mexico, thanksgiving at my sisters in phoenix, and Faire next year. Other than that it will sit next to my driveway though…
The usual chaos
Well, just the usual chaos going on around here…
- Merlin wanted to go out really bad today… that usually means he sees a squirrel. This time it wasn’t a squirrel, but a cat. Luckily the cat managed to go the right way and made it out of the yard alive.
- The other day when I wasn’t paying enough attention, I must have left the back door open just a tad long and Bitty the cat got out. Luckily I managed to herd her back in before she could get very far.
- Been trying to fight off this anoying cough for a while now… I sure hope it goes away soon.
In other news I have been thinking about getting a small travel trailer. I have a number of things coming up where that would be very handy.
It would be handy for nukestock at halloween, hunting in new mexico after, and going to phoenix at thanksgiving. It would be nice to not have to
find a hotel that takes dogs while traveling. I would feel much better leaving the dogs in a nice sturdy trailer with a/c than in a tent or a hotel room.
I have some good leads… will probibly go look at some this weekend.
busy weekend ahead…
Hello from bazcamp up in loveland near boyd lake. ![]()
I wish I could just hang out up here this weekend, but alas, I overbooked myself a lot.
Soon I should head back home to the pups.
Tomorrow at 9am until noon I will be helping man the Broomfield days Colorado Greyhound Adoption booth.
Then, in the afternoon some neighbors are having a ‘Neighborhood party’, which I have missed every year I have lived in my current house. It would be nice to at least make a short appearance there and meet some folks.
Some other friends are having a BBQ/party in boulder in the afternoon/evening.
Some other friends are up visiting from New Mexico, and it would be great to meet up with them, especially since monday my friend D heads out to the east coast for 6 months or a year, so hopefully I will see them some.
Then perhaps sunday I can relax.
Slacking again. I meant to post monday… oh well. ;(
The CGA picnic was this last Saturday. I baked a bunch of cookies and brownies on friday night (they were having a bake sale as well) and managed to get all packed up and headed out the door by 11:15ish. I did make one wrong turn on the way, missing a street that they were constructing on and had no signs up for, but that was only a minor setback. We got to the park just around noon.
Met up with T and T and T’s parents (how’s that for confusing.
Who had a shelter up and a x-pen for the doggies.
Shortly after I got there, the rain came in and it started to rain and rain. Luckily the rain lasted only about 20-30min and then cleared up.
It was lovely after that, especially when the sun was behind the clouds.
Nash had a lovely time meeting every hound and human he could. There was even a little all black girl puppy there that was about a month or so younger than Nash. He was pretty good at detecting the hounds that were very alpha and would flop down on his back with his tummy exposed to them.
The food was pretty excellent that everyone had brought, and I shared out a bottle of mead I got for my birthday.
Merlin and Kurt and Sabrina in the x-pen
Nash taking a micronap.
There was a pretty good turnout of people and hounds.
Zuca getting read for the coustoume contest.
Even a plastic bottle can be a lovely chew toy in the right hands.
Hey, that x-pen has really filled up.
Oh no, someone started a rooooo….
All in all a great time. Good to see friends and hounds.
Dear internet,
Today there was one of those Squirrels in the yard. I spotted it right away (Being a sight-hound and all)…
Look at that little tree rat, chattering at me. One of these days, he’s going to make a mistake.
He’s going to jump too far, or chatter too much, and he’s going to hit the yard.
When he does, I will be there waiting, and then we will see who will be chattering…
Laugh while you can squirrel. Your days are numbered.
- Merlin
I know I have been a slacker on updates the last week. Things have been busy…
The CGA picnic was yesterday, I will hopefully get pics up from that later today.
Nash is doing great… he’s much easier now that he was when I first got him. He no longer chews on me or the leash, and usually will stop chewing on other things if I tell him “not a toy”. He’s gotten the house training thing down pretty well now. I have been letting him off leash in the house and he’s been letting me know when he needs to go out. He seems to be pretty happy day to day around here, and also happy to go out to things like the picnic or petsmart or the like.
When he got here he was 28lbs. The other day I weighed him and he was 40. He’s gonna be a big boy.
I just sent in some email to CGC, telling them that unless there was some snag on their end, he’s here to stay.
Here’s some Nash pictures from the last week or so:
One of Nash’s favorate toys outside is sticks of wood from the woodpile. Oh well, it keeps him amused.
On the longer walks, Nash likes to lay down in shady grass and rest.
“Whats that flashy thing?”
Yes, Nash has found that couches are comfy to lay on… no keeping him off at this point.
Do you think he’s comfy?
Not sure if it’s the angle, but Nash is a very very messy water drinker. Water flys around and runs off his face after he walks away from the bowl.
A more Modest stick in the yard.
All 3 boys in one shot.
Looking like monday perhaps starting around noon, I will be showing all the LOTR movies…
Drop me an email for more details.
