Very tardy weekend recap:
Friday was a relaxing evening in, saturday was pretty boring at first with junk around the house that needed to be done and so forth, then got a call from a friend and we went up to "Fall Fest" in boulder. Lots of cheesy booths and such, but a few pretty cool booths as well. Then indian food at the place near the boulder theatre that I always forget the name of. Sunday was up super early to join some folks in boulder for bike riding. Got up around 7am, and was at caffe sole in bouler for the meetup at 9am. Biking was a lot of fun, we biked around the maze of boulder bike path's for several hours. I had forgotten that I used to like bike riding, will have to try and do more of it now. Sunday afternoon was devoted to napping.
Pretty darn typical week. D&D tuesday night, HackingSociety thursday night. Work along each day. I really need to deal with some netflix that I have had for a very long time. Perhaps this weekend I will try and catch up on them.
Jessica is learning how to relax in the true greyhound way:
This afternoon I went out with K and had a very nice hike in Golden Gate Canyon State Park Very nice weather and good company. I sucked wind pretty bad on the way up the first big hill, but managed to mostly keep up. Lots of aspen up there, many already turning fall colors. There was rain that threatened, but didn't materalize. We then stopped for a lovely dinner at the Table Mountain Inn In golden.
Some pictures from the hike.
Some pictures of dogs wearing collars:
Went out to a nice BBQ up in boulder last night. A small gathering, but the food was excellent as was the company. After getting back from the BBQ had a incident with merlin and jessica the foster dog fighting over a toy. :( Some injury, but not too bad.
Later today a hike if the weather permits.
Took a few pictures yesterday on our walk. There were these crazy piles of ants. Whats up with that? Anyone know? An ant firedrill? Evacuating before the rains? Spring cleaning? Nasty creatures, ants.
Boring weekend recap:
Got a ton of small junk around the house done, including: mowing, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, laundry, giving all the dogs baths, cleaning out the closet upstairs, getting my test machine installed and working again, getting plane tickets for my TRF trip in october, submitting linux-kernel bug reports for bugs I had found, went on lots of dog walks and finally spent some very delightfull time with a lovely lady. All in all a excellent quiet weekend.
Here's twyla teaching jessica the foster dog how to relax:
Recap of the last few days:
Monday I had a lovely BBQ here. Very nice weather and a good crowd of folks.
Tuesday was the D&D game. We had several party members die, and came close on several other occasions. Good thing for magic to save folks.
Cleaning fun:
Kurt is feeling much better today. He ate his breakfast and was interested in going out with the other pups in the morning. The swelling is still there a bit, but it's much reduced. Hopefully he's well on the way to total recovery.
I was considering going bike riding this morning, but didn't get moving fast enough, and I'm not sure my bike is even operable. I guess I will try and dust it off in the next few days and hopefully join others for a boulder bike ride next sunday.
Today is cleaning day here. I need to clean up the house a bunch, do laundry, etc. What joy and fun.
Eariler today wasn't fun. Kurt wasn't feeling well and was breathing pretty poorly. I looked him over for injury and notced that his throat had swelled out about 5x normal. Call my vet friend up in johnstown, and talked about it. Probibly an alergic reaction. Gave him some benadryl, and it went down a bit, but still was large and scary, so I decided to take him up to get looked at. I25 is still a mess, but I made it up to johnstown around 1:30pm or so. Got kurt some injections to bring the swelling down. Seemed to help him even more. He's still not 100% by any means, but he is breathing better now at least.
After I got back and made sure kurt was stable I wandered up to a BBQ at jeremy's. Was a very nice time. Good crowd of folks, lots of brawts and beer, and good conversation.
Went up and picked up Jessica from the vet today. She was in to get spayed and also to patch up some smaller wounds. She seems to have done fine with the surgery. Stupidly it was suggested to me that I use a muzzle on her to keep her from picking at the wounds. Dho. I should have remembered to try that before. Oh well. She's sleeping nicely now with a muzzle on.
Finally a night where I have no plans. I really need to do laundry badly. Also, if I don't get enough nights to stay home and be a hermit I end up not being all that happy. Having some lovely chicken fajitas and a margarita for dinner. Yum.
