Christmas Cherry Cookies Bake at 275 degrees for 30-35 minutes 1 cup butter/margarine 1 cup powdered sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups flour 1 8 ounce jar of marachino cherries, drained and cut up 1/2 cup nuts (recipe calls for filberts, but I substitute pecans) Cream butter well. Add powdered sugar and cream again. Add salt, vanilla and flour. add cherries and nuts. Chill well. Shape into small balls. Put on ungreased cookie sheets and mash down ball after they have baked for about 15 minutes. Cookies should be light in color.
